As part of a Sheffield City Council safety and environment initiative, Nether Green has produced a School Travel Plan to promote awareness of travelling to and from scchool in as safe and environmentally friendly way as possible, as well as to highlight the health benefits of doing so.

 We do this in a number of waysY6 children participate in Bikeability, the cycling proficiency scheme

• 'Walk to School Week' is promoted
• We encourage children to walk to school on at least one day during the week as part of the WOW scheme (Walk Once a Week)
• Y6 participate in Crucial Crew, which is organised by members of the emergency services and in which the children experience a variety of scenarios to help develop life skills.  They also work with the Transport Executive learning how to use public transport safely in readiness for their transfer to secondary school
• the benefits of walking and cycling are regularly ex
• plained and promoted in assemblies, and during our annual Health Week.

Walking Bus

There is currently a walking bus setting off from the Co-op at the bottom of Crimicar Lane, it stops off at the Infants and makes it's way down to the us at the Junior School.  There is also one setting off from Cruise Road/Oakbrook Road which stops off at the Junior and makes it's way to the Infants.

Cars and Parking

If you find it necessary to come to school by car please consider the possibility of car sharing, as Fulwood Road and the surrounding area does get very congested during the start and end of school.  Can we also remind you to park considerately and appropriately so as not to endanger our children.

Home Time

If you currently wait for your children outside school can we remind you that you are welcome to wait on the school premises near the playtrail.  The aim of this is to make your wait a little more pleasant and to ease congestion near the road.
