HELP AT HOME

The school’s homework policy recognises that pupils work hard in school and should be encouraged to develop other skills and interests out of school time. It also states that we feel that children of this age need the opportunity to play, socialise and relax. We do however value parental involvement and support in the following areas:

  • Reading: Both to your child and listening to them read aloud
  • Spelling: Weekly lists will be sent home for the children to practise for a test the following week
  • Mathematics: Learning of tables and number facts as appropriate
  • Research work when relevant to support topics
  • Big Writing: Talk Homework may be given to support our weekly Big Writing.

SCHOOL BAGS
We value your support by ensuring that your child has a book bag or plastic wallet to carry reading books, letters home etc. to and from school to avoid them becoming damaged. We do sell bags in school at a cost of £2.50. If you are interested in purchasing one please go to the office.
