HELP AT HOME

The school’s homework policy recognises that pupils work hard in school and should be encouraged to develop other skills and interests out of school time. It also states that we feel that children of this age need the opportunity to play, socialise and relax. We do however value parental involvement and support in the following areas:

  • Big Writing: Discuss writing topics and help with planning if possible.
  • Reading: both to your child and listening to them read aloud,
  • Spellings have already been sent home for the children to practise for tests on Fridays
  • Mathematics: learning of tables and number facts as appropriate,
  • Research work when relevant to support topics.

SCHOOL BAGS

We value your support by ensuring that your child has a book bag (£2.50) or plastic wallet (£0.35) to carry reading books, letters home etc. to and from school to avoid them becoming damaged. We sell these in school, also handwriting pens at a cost of £0.50. If you are interested in purchasing any of these items please go to the office.
