Lunches & Free School Meals

The school has a kitchen and dining room.  Meals are prepared on site with a choice of two courses and desserts available every day.  Meals for children with special dietary requirements can be catered for as long as prior notice is given.

Children bringing packed lunches can eat with children eating school dinners.  Please do not bring drinks to school in a glass bottle.

To find out if you can apply for free school meals for your child, please look at the Sheffield City Council food service web pages here.

The price of a school meal is currently £2.00 per day.  Meals should now be paid for, in advance (as was the case with our previous payment system), using Parentpay.

If you'd like to change your child's current meal arrangements, please give the office a week's notice by telephone (0114  230 2461) or email enquiries@nethergreen-jun.sheffield.sch.uk - clearly marked SCHOOL MEALS CHANGE.

Your child does not have to have school meals for the whole week, as long as you choose a regular meal pattern e.g every Wednesday and Thursday, this is fine.

For more information you can visit the website of our school lunch provider,

Taylor Shaw.

At the beginning of each academic year we send out letters offering the children milk, which is paid for in advance for the whole year.

We ask children only to bring in healthy snacks to eat at playtimes - we have a policy of no sweets, chocolates and crisps in school both before school and at playtimes. In 2007 we were awarded National Healthy School status for promoting the Health & Well Being of our pupils.

Children are encouraged to bring a drink of water every day and to drink regularly
