Orchestra and Choir
MUSIC ACTIVITIES
We have a wide range of musical activities on offer throughout the school year. Once children have been learning their instrument for a year, they have the opportunity to join our 70-strong orchestra who rehearse each week. Our guitarists also have their own ‘Guitar Band’ ensemble led by guitar teacher Jack.
Both our orchestra and guitar band perform annually in the Music for Youth regional festivals and in 2019 guitar band progressed through to the National Festival in Birmingham. All of our instrumentalists and ensembles also perform in various school concerts throughout the year.
CHOIR
Although all of our children take part in choir during school hours, we have also recently formed an after school choir called ‘Take Note.’ This choir is made up of children from years 3 – 6 and they regularly perform at events in the local community, including the Broomhill Festival and carols with the Salvation Army. If your child is interested in joining the ‘Take Note’ choir please speak to Mrs Meller.
