At Nether Green Junior School, swimming is taught in Year 4.
Swimming is an important skill and can encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. All Local Authority schools must provide swimming instruction either in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.

Schools Swimming have pulled together some fun swimming activities for you to do in school or at home. They include water safety worksheets from the Swimming Teachers Association, a wordsearch, videos of some swimming skills that pupils can practice and a link to Swim England’s home-school activity sheets.
These activities are suitable for children in Year 1 to Year 6. They can colour, spot dangers or even practice kicking off their socks while sitting on the sofa!
